Um, just a side note: I saw people snapping up the BK King Halloween masks from a few Ricky's stores (youth-oriented shops in NYC that sells cosmetics, cheap jewelry, ironic pop-culture toys and Halloween costumes).

hey, the new king puppet stuff is hilarious. the weemcee.com site is fun, but the TV ads with the puppet guzzling the milk is spot on. finally BK kids advertising is cool -- like back in the day when i was a kid. they even piggy-backed a superman promo but made the puppet carry the ad by acting superman-ish. the finger heads on the train is super funny. hey advergirl, how about those? ya gotta watch nickelodeon to catch 'em though...

This type of work might be effective on the micro sense, and I'm sure it registers with the real audience (award judges), but a brand like BK really lacks any cohesion and "stickiness." I don't feel any one thing about the brand. You can be youthful and quirky without being schizo. Right?

I think I'm going to have to agree with her on the pure waste of creativity.

I like "Managing your meat every day." I try to do that for myself, twice on the weekends sometimes.

perhaps you would like the BK kids stuff better from Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis:

You have to love the Sausage Biscuit radio spots.

Did you get burned by CPB in the past? You really are hung up on them.

    SIgh

I bet Bogusky doesn't eat there either.

I think Crispin has done far more for the BK brand than anything they've ever done in the past. They've given it a personality - they've given it something more than just "burger joint" - they've given it mind share.

You might not like it, but I would be willing to bet that the campaigns have had a significant effect on the BK bottom line.

That said, I'd never eat there.

Also, you should know that these were posted in an area that's currently host to a BUNCH of construction.

Anything to get noticed by award committees...
